Candle Care and Burning Tips
A common question that we are often asked is..."Does soy burn differently than paraffin?" The answer is 'Yes!'
A MacBailey Candle has been designed to burn cleanly, evenly and longer than its paraffin counterparts. Here are some helpful tips to make the most of your MacBailey Soy Candle experience:
Before your first light, make sure you have 3-4 hours available to burn your candle while attended (Keep out of reach of flammable objects, kids and pets). This will ensure that the melt pool created during this time will reach the edges of your vessel and each time thereafter (allow 1 hour per 1" of distance from your wick) further reducing the chances of tunneling.
TRIM YOUR WICK! Trim your wick to 1/4 of an inch before each burn. When the wick is too long that is when your candle will create soot. It is not so noticeable on your MacBailey Concrete candles but when you have a candle with a glass jar sooting can happen easily.
Minimize your candles exposure to UV or fluorescent light. We do not use additives in our wax so your candle may turn yellow however this does not effect the performance of our product.
Soy has memory. If your candle is extinguished prior to allowing a full melt pool, all future melt pools will not go past the first one. Never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of flammable objects, children or pets. Keep the wick trimmed to approximately 1/4”. Minimize exposer to UV or florescent light.
Now sit back and enjoy the fragrant aroma of a MacBailey Candle!
Until next time,
